Itinerary

Day 1: One hour transfer by private minibus to our alpine ‘home from home' via the spectacular Giffre Valley .
Day 2: After an easy morning to discover the town of Morzine by horse and carriage, we will visit the impressive Chateau de Ripaille (45 mins drive) for a guided tour of the first home of the Duke of Savoy and its vineyards. It would be rude to leave before sampling the chateau wine!
Day 3: Day trip to the old town of Annecy , a picture postcard town on the edge of the lake and with the backdrop of the Aravis Mountains . After a walk around the cobbled streets and along the canals of the ‘French Venice' what better way to end the visit than afternoon tea and cake on a pleasure boat trip!
Day 4: A more local day with visits no more than 20 minutes from our base. In the morning we will visit the working goat village of Lindarets for its breathtaking views and homemade goats cheese! Our route will take us past the spectacular Lake Montriond on the way to the rugged mountain pastures. We finish the day with an afternoon visit to neighbouring Les Gets (a ‘chocolate box' village) and a cable car ride to the Mont Blanc viewpoint and café on Mont Cheri.
Day 5: Return transfer to Geneva taking in the sights of Lake Geneva on route and stopping for a stroll around the spectacular medieval town of Yvoire .

We are delighted to welcome a highly experienced Wine Educator to Morzine next summer, and Peter Edwards will be running tutored holidays focussing on the six classic wines of France. Themed classes will be combined with vineyard visits and time to explore the beautiful local surroundings. Peter has been running wine holidays since 1994 and is also very active in the UK where he runs the Northern England Wine Tasting School and regular wine weekends in the Lake District.
