Chalet Lothlorien is ideally situated in the upmarket satellite village of Essert Romand , just outside Morzine, and offers one of the best panoramic views in the area. From the suntrap terrace it is possible to admire the local summits of Nyon, Pleney and Mont Cheri, as well as the dramatic and jagged peaks of the Franco-Swiss border. Sleeping up to 14 in 5 bedrooms, this quintessential alpine hideaway boasts tranquillity, homeliness and plenty of space (a feature that is hard to find in the all too common hastily assembled stereotypical ski chalet), making it a perfect chalet escape for people from all walks of life.

We have a certain amount of flexibility in room composition. If you are not sure about the room possibilities for your group please get in touch to discuss. Cots can be added to any of the rooms for very young guests.
The chalet is ideally situated for groups who want a peaceful alpine retreat and yet with our private transport service you can be in Morzine in 5 minutes or at the Ardent cable car in 10 minutes, giving access to the very heart of the Portes du Soleil circuit. For guests wishing to visit the local bars and nightclubs after dinner we provide transport to the town and the best way home is by taxi. Essert Romand has its own restaurant and bar in the shape of ‘Le Petit Auberge', offering a charming bar area and a menu packed with regional specialities. For anyone wishing to make their own way back to the chalet during the day the Vallee d'Aulps bus runs past the top of the driveway and takes just 8 minutes from Morzine town centre. The chalet has ample parking for anyone wishing to bring their own cars.

We recognise the effect of the winter sports industry on the natural environment, and for this reason we operate several "green policies" suggested by the Ski Club of Great Britain www.respectthemontain.com. We apply these policies during the summer too as the natural environment is not a seasonal attraction!
- Do not leave litter on the slopes - when the snow melts, the rubbish remains
- Respect the natural habitat of mountain animals and plants - take a guide off piste in order to avoid protected habitats
- Choose a "green resort"
- Do your bit to reduce the global warming - Re-use your towels each day, recycle litter,...
- Ski in low-season to help reduce the impact caused by crowds

Self-catered chalet option
You can rent the entire chalet with the self-catered option. The price includes fresh bed linen (including towels and tea towels) and local taxes.

and a filling 3 course evening meal, prepared with fresh produce and served with plenty of local wine! A sample of an evening menu is shown below but we are happy to cater for all dietary requirements including the provision of an early children's dinner.
The price also includes a shuttle service to the town centre after the evening meal if required. However, if you are too tired to hit the bars why not just relax and watch a DVD from our movie collection whilst enjoying the contents of our honesty bar!
