Host Savoie Ltd was established in 2005 by us… Andy & Sylvie! The company name is a play on words relating to the area of France in which our operation is based, the Haute Savoie (or Upper Savoy in English). We have always strived to offer excellent service and the personal touch whilst keeping prices sensible and affordable for families. When we arrived in Morzine in 2004 it became obvious that there were far too many chalet operators loosely using the term ‘luxury' all over their websites. We believe passionately that value for money and ‘extra mile' service are the things that matter to skiers, and people seeking 5 star treatment would be better booking a stay at a hotel in one of the world's more glamorous resorts.
|
The service that we seek to provide is best summed up with a real life example… In 2007 we gave a stranded skier a lift back from the slopes to her chalet in our minibus and she said that she was paying double the amount that we were charging for that particular week of the season. For the difference in price she had champagne before dinner every night, a ‘free' dressing gown, slippers and some expensive toiletries in her room. However, of those ‘extras' she commented… “none of that makes any difference if I'm stuck out in the snow with nobody prepared to come and pick me up”!
Our promise to you is that we will handle every aspect of your booking, you can speak to us on the phone at pretty much any time of any day, before, during or after your holiday, and we will always go the extra mile to give you a fantastic stay. The reason we can guarantee that is because we wouldn't be able to sleep at night otherwise!

ANDY: Was born and bred in Wales and started skiing at a very early age with annual trips to Glenshee in Scotland . His love of winter has grown with every year spent on skis and, whilst recognising the beauty of the Alps in summer, he insists on making regular visits to glacier ski areas to control the withdrawal symptoms! Prior to setting up Host Savoie he worked as an Education Officer and a part-time Community Football Coach, having gained a Masters Degree in International Politics and Strategic Studies. In his spare time he is an avid follower of Sheffield Wednesday, and loves cheesy alpen-pop style music! |
|
SYLVIE: Is a more recent convert to skiing, having only discovered her passion for it during her first winter in Morzine. Her love of cooking goes back much further to the days when as a child she used to help her mother and grandmother in the kitchen back home in Belgium. Prior to setting up Host Savoie Sylvie spent a year in Wales on a European Volunteer Scheme working with disabled people, and before that she attained a masters degree in the field of Psychology at the University de Libre de Bruxelles. In her spare time she has an unhealthy passion for DIY, enjoys reading, painting, movies, and keeping fit. |
